Jaguar Land Rover has teamed up with Plugsurfing to launch a new pan-European charging service for EV and plug-in hybrid drivers, backed by a dedicated portal for fleets.

Jaguar has tied up with Plugsurfing for its pan-European service

The Jaguar Charging and Land Rover Charging solutions provide drivers with access to a network of over 300,000 charging points – one of the largest networks in Europe and stretching across 26 countries with more than 700 separate charging point providers.

Partners include Osprey, Ionity and Char.gy and the fast-expanding network will see more operators added later this year.

But the solution also offers dedicated electrified fleet management tools that enable easy monitoring of charging sessions, members and billing for a whole fleet of electrified vehicles.

Users of the service can activate charge points either via a bespoke RFID charging key or via the Jaguar Charging or Land Rover Charging app. Fleet managers can add or remove employees, track which users have active charging keys and assign a unique value to each user through a new dedicated portal. They also benefit from a single invoice covering all charging sessions.

Fleets can also choose between three different subscriptions for users, starting with the fee-free Pay-As-You-Go package. The Gold Tariff – priced at £4.26 per month including VAT – sits above it and provides fixed prices for charging, differing depending on the speed of the charger. The top-rung Platinum Tariff, priced at £8.50 per month including VAT, reduces the fixed rates, making it suitable for drivers that are regularly using public charging facilities.

The new offerings support JLR’s Reimagine strategy, which will see Jaguar morph into an all-electric luxury brand by 2025, while all Land Rover nameplates will be available in pure electric form by the end of the decade. Within the Jaguar stable, the brand already offers the I-Pace SUV, complemented by the E-Pace and F-Pace PHEVs. Land Rover is due to premiere a battery-electric Range Rover and Range Rover Sport in 2024, while plug-in hybrid versions are already available. The Range Rover Velar, Range Rover Evoque, Land Rover Discovery Sport and Land Rover Defender are also already on sale in PHEV form.

Rawdon Glover, Jaguar Land Rover UK managing director, said: “Although the most visible part of our Reimagine strategy may be our commitment to electrified and fully electric vehicles, we consider the evolution of modern luxury customer experiences to be equally important.

“Every interaction a customer has with our brand has to be carefully considered but often there are elements outside of our control, including their public charging experience. With these new Jaguar Charging and Land Rover Charging services, we can better meet the needs and expectations of our customers when it comes to charging their cars in the UK and across much of Europe.”
