Leapmotor International, the JV between Stellantis and China’s Leapmotor, has uncovered its new B05 electric hatchback at the Munich motor show and commercially launched its B10 compact SUV.

The two new models will join the existing C10 SUV and T03 city car, propelling the brand’s plans for Europe and will be joined after launch by two B-segment models – a hatch and SUV – as the carmaker pushes ahead with growth.

Big news for fleets is the arrival next year of the B05 as a fully electric C-segment hatch that “combines innovation, affordability and bold style”, delivering a new challenger to the Astra Electric and VW ID.3.

Built on Leapmotor’s latest Leap 3.5 technology architecture, it’s expected to arrive late 2026 with sub-£30k pricing.

The “sporty-looking” hatch is pitched at “new generations of urban trendsetters” and will centre around four core pillars such as “cutting-edge design, agile handling, Leapmotor flagship intelligence, and segment-defying quality”.

Design delivers a “sleek, muscular silhouette”, inspired by Leapmotor’s ‘Tech-Nature Aesthetic’ and both “futuristic and grounded in urban style”. Features include frameless doors and 19-inch ‘Swift-Wing’ alloy wheels.

Sitting above the T03 city car, it measures 4,430mm in length, 1,880mm in width and 1,520mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,735mm.

The brand also says it will deliver an all-new driving experience, giving a “bold expression of performance ambition”.

Also featured at IAA Munich is the Leapmotor B10, a compact SUV that already launching in various markets in Europe and expected to open for ordering in the UK shortly with deliveries this winter. It’s positioned as one of the most competitively positioned electric SUVs in its class and targeted at young professionals, small families and “urban dwellers”.

Built on the same Leap3.5 technology architecture as the B05, it’s expected to preview the powertrain, technologies and equipment of its hatchback counterpart.

It’s powered by a front motor with 218hp and 240Nm of torque, enabling 0 to 62mph in 8.0 seconds and with a top speed of 106mph (170km/h).

Two battery options will be available, depending on the market. The Pro battery version features a 56.2kWh pack offering up to 224 miles (361km) of WLTP range, while the ProMax battery version comes with a 67.1kWh pack delivering up to 270 miles (434km). Both batteries support 11kW AC charging and ultra-fast DC charging up to 168kW, enabling a 30-80% charge in less than 20 minutes.

The brand also promises a unique driving experience thanks to 50:50 weight distribution, the multi-link rear suspension and advanced chassis tuning developed in cooperation with the Stellantis engineering team.

The exterior design is a “refined expression of youthful energy”, with sleek curves and dynamic lines.

The spacious, bright and customisable interior comes with versatile seat configurations that allow the space to transform and also offers one of the largest passenger spaces in the segment.

Aligning with the focus on the modern, tech-savvy driver, the B10 features a 14.6-inch floating touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

While two trims will be available in various European markets, Leapmotor is using a ‘one model, one version’ strategy for the UK, with more details to be confirmed in the autumn.

The B10 will be available in over 30 countries and regions, including Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Asia-Pacific and South America.
