BP has installed a new ultra-fast charging hub, said to be the first in London.

The new site is said to be the first ultra-fast charging hub to be installed in London

Part of the firm’s nationwide roll-out of 150kW ultra-fast rapid charging units, the BP retail site in Hammersmith, London, has been fitted out with four 150kW chargers.

The new units are accessible through BP Chargemaster’s Polar network, and will offer rapid charging of up to 150kW with CHAdeMO and CCS connectors. All four units are currently available on Free Vend for a limited time.

The installation of the new hub follows the announcement earlier this year by Tufan Erginbilgic, chief executive of BP’s Downstream business, of the roll-out of ultra-fast chargers on to BP forecourts, with 400 set to be installed across the country. The first ultra-fast charging site went live in August this year, with the first two units installed at BP retail site, BP Cranford in Hounslow.
