Mina recommends right charging hardware for fleets with new certification scheme

EV charging payment specialist Mina has launched a ‘Fleet Approved’ hardware certification scheme to highlight charge points which perform well in a fleet setting.

The service draws on the firm’s experience of integrating with chargers of many brands – not just those meeting OCPP regulations – thanks to its hardware-agnostic system that enables business payments for EV charging across home, public and the workplace.

Its new hardware certification scheme launches as fleets increasingly look for guidance around which hardware to install for their drivers when charging at home.

Chris Dalrymple, MD at Mina, explained: “One of the first questions we often have from fleets is which hardware to install – especially at drivers’ homes. With hundreds of hardware models to choose from it can be confusing. With our experience integrating with, and coordinating the install of many different hardware brands we’re able to recommend the right hardware for the right fleet.”

Mina is able to recommend home charging hardware, having integrated with multiple charge point brands and processed data on thousands of kWh of charging sessions.

The ‘Fleet Approved’ scheme highlight those charge points which perform well in a fleet setting, based on factors including ease of install, quality of and frequency data, smart charging features and service support.

The first hardware to gain the Mina recommendation is the Easee One – rated for a number of features which makes it ideal for the fleet charging setting, including GSM and Wifi connectivity, smart charging functionality and high levels of service and maintenance included in the install cost.

Effie Vraka, country director, Easee, commented: “We are delighted to be selected as Fleet Approved hardware by Mina and help them help businesses electrify their fleets the Easee way, as we are so aligned in the way we want to bring our products and services in the market: with our end-user best experience in mind.”

Mina is also working with other manufacturers to bring them onto the scheme and support fleets with the best hardware choices – it’s also keen to speak with potential partners who want to join the scheme.
