The Jaguar F-Pace has been given an upgrade for 2023, including an improved interior and bigger battery pack for the P400e PHEV.

A bigger lithium-ion battery now comprises nine modules instead of eight, increasing energy storage capacity to 19.2kWh. The result is a theoretical electric-only driving range of more than 40 miles (up from 33 miles in the outgoing car). There are also improvements in CO2 emissions and fuel economy, which now stand at 37g/km and up to 176.6mpg respectively (WLTP). The powertrain’s 404hp combined output is enough to propel the car to 60mph from standstill in five seconds flat.

Jaguar says the P400e accounts for more than one in five F-Pace sales in the UK and it expects the new model to become more dominant, given the improvements and shift to electrification.

“As we make progress to reimagine Jaguar to an all-electric luxury brand by 2025, we have been curating our existing products by offering richer and more desirable specifications,” said Philip Koehn, managing director, Jaguar. “The first nameplate to receive this change was F-Type as we move towards 2023 and celebrate 75 years of Jaguar sports cars. We now move to F-Pace, an SUV that offers an unrivalled balance of ride, handling, refinement and luxury.

“By increasing the range of the P400e plug-in electric hybrid by more than 20%, it becomes an even more attractive combination of performance, efficiency and zero-tailpipe emissions driving capability,” added Koehn.

The 2024MY F-Pace range comprises: R-Dynamic S, R-Dynamic SE Black, R-Dynamic HSE Black, 400 Sport and SVR. Alongside the PHEV, the powertrain line-up also includes a 250hp four-cylinder petrol, 204hp four-cylinder diesel, 300hp six-cylinder diesel, 400hp six-cylinder petrol and the 550hp V8 petrol exclusively in the SVR – all bar the entry- and top-level petrols are mild hybrids and they all come with all-wheel drive and an eight-speed transmission.

Inside the new F-Pace, Jaguar promises “more technology than before”. For example, there’s a new TFT digital driver display in the R-Dynamic S, which offers a two-dial configuration with a choice of media or navigation in the centre panel. Elsewhere, wireless charging is standard on all F-Pace models, as is the Pivi Pro infotainment system. This system offers Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, alongside integrated Alexa voice control. The car’s navigation system also features compatibility with What3words.

Prices start at £48,660 for the D-200 R Dynamic 2.0-litre diesel F-Pace, with the P400e PHEV priced from £69,280.
