New Audi e-tron GT series UK pricing and specification announced
Audi has announced the latest e-tron GT models, which are available to order in the UK today and priced from £107,730 (OTR). Deliveries of the first customer vehicles are scheduled for later in the summer.
There is a restructured line-up of three variants: S e-tron GT, RS e-tron GT and RS e-tron GT performance, with the latter’s 925PS output ranking as the highest ever offered by a series production Audi model.
Each version in the new e‑tron GT series has a new grille with a three-dimensional appearance flanked by more pronounced airflow-optimising ‘curtains’ elevates the front end, while the rear view is embellished by a new aerodynamic diffuser with vertical fins.
The four rings are newly rendered in line with the latest Audi corporate identity at the front and rear, and the specific model designation is now displayed on the B-pillar. A new 20-inch multi-spoke wheel design complements the changes in S e-tron GT models, while the S e-tron GT Vorsprung steps up to a 21-inch aero wheel complemented by red brake calipers.
The RS e-tron GT performance – the first fully electric RS performance model – shares the RS e-tron GT’s standard specification, but adds ceramic brakes with calipers finished in anthracite.
There are also new interior accents across the range, while a new, enhanced version of the Audi virtual cockpit provides the driver with comprehensive battery and charging status information for the first time. It forms part of the car’s digital connectivity technology, including an array of internet-based Audi Connect services and an app store accessible via the Audi wireless smartphone interface.
All three new e-tron GT derivatives are powered by two electric motors using 800-volt technology, one mounted on each axle. At the entry point to the series, the S e-tron GT delivers a maximum combined output of 680PS (500kW), and a 0-62mph sprint time of 3.4 seconds with launch control. The updated RS e-tron GT, with peak power increased to 856PS (630kW), cuts the acceleration time to 2.8 seconds with launch control, while the new RS e-tron GT performance sets a new precedent with 925PS (680kW) and the potential to cover 0-62mph in a mere 2.5 seconds with launch control. The S e-tron GT reaches a top speed of 152mph, and the RS models are limited to a 155mph maximum.
There is also an upgraded, lighter battery offering 105 kWh and a maximum driving range of up to 374 miles.
Charging power has also increased to 320kW, meaning the e-tron GT can be charged from 10-80% in 18 minutes. Improvements to the predictive thermal management and regenerative braking systems have also brought further gains in charging efficiency and energy recuperation.
Adaptive air suspension also becomes a standard feature on the new e-tron GT for all variants but has also been extensively redeveloped, while S e-tron GT Vorsprung and RS e-tron GT Vorsprung models are equipped with an even more sophisticated set-up known as active
