Mini has officially uncovered its new Aceman, delivering a midsize all-electric crossover to fill a gap in its line-up.

Sitting between the Cooper hatch and the Countryman SUV, it expands the brand’s all-electric line-up while filling the void left by the departure of the Clubman.

A rival to the Jeep Avenger, Vauxhall Mokka Electric and Fiat 600e, the five-seat crossover will deliver sleek design, the performance and versatility, “while maintaining the versatility and functionality of a crossover and the go kart feeling you can expect from a Mini”.

It will initially be built in China while production will also come onboard at Oxford in 2026 following a major investment to transform the plant.

Prices will start from £31,800 and the line-up will feature a choice of three “well-specified” trims – Classic, Exclusive and Sport – plus E and SE powertrain versions.

The entry-level Aceman E uses a 184hp electric motor that generates torque of 290Nm and accelerates the vehicle from 0 to 62 mph in 7.9 seconds. It’s fed by a 42.5kWh battery, offering up to 192 miles of electric range (WLTP).

The Aceman SE sits above, priced from £36,300, and features a higher power 218hp motor with maximum torque of 330Nm and able to sprint from 0 to 62mph in 7.1 seconds. The larger 54.2kWh battery enables an increased range of 252 miles.

The battery can be charged via 11kW AC, with 75kW DC charging available on the Aceman E, while the Aceman SE is capable of up to 95kW, enabling the battery to be charged from 10 to 80% in under 30 minutes. The Mini app provides a convenient overview of the vehicle status and charging process, including current battery status, charging-optimised route plans and charging history

Design features include new angular LED headlights and an octagonal grille, which is finished in Vibrant Silver or high-gloss Jet Black. As with other members of the new Mini family, the front and rear lights are optionally available with three switchable light signatures.

As with its siblings, the cockpit of the Aceman is based a central 9-5inch OLED display,  which can be operated intuitively by touch or voice command using Mini Operating System 9.

Rear seats offer space for up to three passengers and 300 litres of boot space. With the 60:40 split rear seats folded flat, the luggage compartment can be expanded up to 1,005 litres.

First customer deliveries start November 2024.
