Tesla’s most powerful Model 3 yet lands with 460hp on tap

Tesla has revealed its new Model 3 Performance – the electric saloon’s most powerful version yet and now on sale in the UK.

Arriving six years after the first Model 3 Performance, the new range-topping version lands following the recent facelift of the Model 3.

It’s priced at £59,990 – a £20k uplift on the entry-level Model 3 Rear-Wheel Drive – and carries over the latest design and technology upgrades, while hotting up performance and handling.

As with the original Model 3 Performance, it features a dual-motor setup that drives all four wheels while now unlocking an extra 3hp of power at 460hp. This cuts the 0-60mph from the former 3.1 seconds to 2.9 and delivers a new top speed of 163mph.

Debuts include adaptive damping technology while the chassis has been upgraded for improved stiffness and there’s new high-performance brakes and latest-generation Track Mode, which enables the driver to customise handling balance, stability controls and regenerative braking.

The Model 3 Performance carries over the latest design updates while giving a standout look thanks to more aggressive styling and 20-inch forged aluminium wheels.

Inside, new Sport Seats provide extra lateral support and come with a heated and ventilated option. The Model 3 Performance also gains a carbon-fibre trim with a unique, Tesla-first weave pattern.

First deliveries of the Model 3 Performance start later this quarter.
