Nissan reveals pricing for Townstar petrol and electric vans

Nissan has announced pricing and specification details for its brand-new Townstar compact van in both electric and petrol forms.

The petrol and electric Townstar compact vans will help fleets future-proof operations and accelerate the transition towards electrification

Revealed last year, it’s the successor to both the e-NV200 and the NV250 and will help fleets future-proof business operations and accelerate the transition towards electrification.

The petrol and electric powertrains are offered in both short- and long-wheelbase versions and four trims: Visia, Acenta, Tekna and Tekna+.

Electric versions are priced from £29,945 for the SWB and £31,245 for the LWB variant. These team up a 122hp motor with a 45kWh battery, giving a range of up to 183 miles WLTP combined or up to 269 miles in city cycle.

They also come with either an 11kW (Visia grade) or 22kW AC (Acenta grade upwards) onboard charging system said to be class-leading. As with its e-NV200 predecessor, there will also be a DC rapid charging connector standard from Acenta grade, which can recharge the battery from 0% to 80% in a little over 40 minutes.

Petrol versions use a 1.3-litre TCe unit that’s fully compliant with the latest Euro 6d-Full emissions regulations and is married up with a six-speed manual transmission to deliver 130hp of power and 240Nm. Prices start from £19,475 SWB and £20,775 for LWB versions.

The Townstar also delivers a payload of up to 600kg (SWB) or 800kg (LWB). Maximum braked towing capacity is 1,500kg.

Full trim details will be revealed closer to launch but the Townstar will feature a broad range of safety technologies and advanced driver assistance features said to put it at the forefront of its category. These include Intelligent Emergency Braking, Hands-Free Parking, Intelligent Cruise Control and Around View Monitor (AVM), exclusive to Nissan.

It also gets a pan-European five-year or 100,000-mile warranty – covering bumper-to-bumper protection, genuine parts and accessories and roadside assistance – in addition to the eight-year/100,000-mile battery warranty for the EV version.

Commenting on the new Townstar, Allan Newman, LCV product manager at Nissan GB, said: “Offering two efficient powertrain solutions, practical design and unique Nissan technologies, it is comprehensively equipped to meet customers’ ever-changing needs.

“With tougher emissions standards, urban access restrictions, and ever-increasing demand for last-mile delivery, businesses large and small need to find effective and sustainable solutions to remain competitive and optimise their operations. We’re confident Townstar will meet their every need.”

Townstar sales start 1 October for the petrol version and 1 December for the EV version, and pre-orders will open from 22 August.
