Taking place tomorrow (20 June 2019), the Clean Air Day event is run by Global Action Plan and will see hundreds of events run across the UK to promote local work on air quality. According to Friends of the Earth, more than 1,700 locations in the UK were in breach of  the annual Air Quality Objective for Nitrogen Dioxide (NO2) levels in February, as showing in its pollution hotspots map.

As part of its input in Clean Air Day, Pod Point will offer free charging across its public network for 24 hours on 20 June. App users will charge and pay as usual. Pod Point will reimburse any payments made via an in-app credit within 2-3 working days

Erik Fairbairn, Pod Point CEO and founder, said: “Initiatives like Clean Air Day are really important in raising awareness that dirty air affects every single one of us. We’re pleased to support this campaign once again with our free charging offer and hope it will help build understanding of the causes of air pollution and how EVs can be a part of the solution.”
