The award, which is named after the co-founder of Germany’s Auto Motor und Sport magazine, is voted for by a team of 25 journalists from the title plus a team of global editors, and is aimed at recognising innovation in the automotive industry.

Bosch developed and supplies the electrical powertrain components for the HYbrid4 system. The two electric motors, one of which is also used as a generator under braking, are manufactured at Bosch’s plant in Hildesheim, while the power electronics were designed with PSA.

In addition to its work with PSA, Bosch also manufactures parts for hybrid models made by Porsche and Volkswagen, and will supply batteries and control systems to the BMW i3, 1 Series ActiveE test vehicle and Fiat 500EV. All Bosch Car Service centres are receiving training to work with the new technology.
