UFODrive launches full-service EV subscription

All-electric online car rental firm UFODrive is expanding into offering a full-service subscription solution across the UK, Europe and US.

The new EV subscription service been driven by customer demand for longer-term rentals and flexible alternatives to leasing

The new product merges the latest EVs with the firm’s service and technology, and has been driven by customer demand for longer-term rentals and flexible alternatives to leasing.

Customers can choose from including the Tesla Models S, 3 & Y, Jaguar I-Pace, Audi E-Tron and more – all available to order in minutes from the firm’s iPhone or Android app and have the car delivered to the door in major cities or to a UFODrive location.

Customers also have 24/7 access to the company’s experts who will monitor your charge levels, book you into the best available charger, guide you to it, and even unlock the car if you forgot your keys.

UFODrive subscription has initially launched across eight countries including UK, Ireland, Spain and Germany, and is planned to be available for US-based customers in Q1.

Aidan McClean, UFODrive CEO and co-founder, said: “We found customers across many of our countries repeatedly extending rentals for weeks and months at a time – which you can do with one click at home. When we spoke to these customers, they were looking for on-demand ownership with our experience levels. By creating the subscription product, we can offer better rates that reward longer rentals and offer greater flexibility.

“Unlike others, we’re not cutting our service levels to support this product.  You get the same proactive 24/7 support that makes us the highest rated rental experience in the world and you can have it delivered to your door or collected when you’re done.”

The arrival of the new solution follows the firm’s recent expansion in San Francisco, Austin, London, Frankfurt and Madrid and the announcement earlier this year of a $19m Series A financing round, co-led by Hertz and Certares. UFODrive currently operates in 9 countries and more than 20 locations including London, San Francisco, Paris, Berlin, Dublin, Austin, and Amsterdam.
