UK ordering now open for Tesla Model 3
The right-hand drive Tesla Model 3 configurator has opened with the full range of options, including rear- and all-wheel drive variants and ranges.
The Standard Range Plus Rear-Wheel Drive model is available from £38,900, while Dual Motor All-Wheel Drive Long Range model commands £47,900. The range topping Performance model – capable of 0-62mph in 3.2 seconds – starts at £56,900.
Rated to WLTP standards, range varies from to 258 to 348 miles. Beyond single-charge range, Model 3 drivers can make use of Tesla’s Supercharger network – with access to 440 Supercharger locations with over 3600 Superchargers in Europe – on a pay-per-use basis. Notably, the European Model 3 comes with a CCS charge port unlike Model S and Model X, meaning Model 3 can additionally make use of other charging networks that offer the standard.
Each vehicle has the company’s proprietary Autopilot system, though “full self-driving capability” costs an extra £4,900. Every car comes with active safety features standard, including Automatic Emergency Braking, Forward Collision Warning and Side Collision Warning.
In terms of safety, though the car is yet to undergo any EuroNCAP testing, the Model 3 recently achieved the lowest probability of injury in any car ever tested by the US’s NHTSA (National Highway Traffic Safety Administration).
Customers who order Model 3 Long Range AWD or Model 3 Performance receive the Premium Interior package. This includes satellite-view maps with live traffic visualisation and navigation, premium audio- 14 speakers, in-car internet streaming music & media, internet browser, location-aware automatic garage door opener. In addition to the 12-way power adjustable front and rear heated seats, LED fog lamps, centre console with storage, 4 USB ports and docking for 2 smartphones. All Model 3 vehicles also come standard with auto dimming, power folding, heated side mirrors, music and media over Bluetooth and custom driver profiles.
First deliveries for reservation holders will begin in June, and will be prioritised based on reservation date, delivery location and configuration option.
