Utah Valley University implements EV charging stations

One station will be used for the university’s own fleet, with the other available in the car park for visitors to use free.

The project has been funded through a series of grants from the energy office, the Utah Clean Air Partnership, and the state Division of Air Quality.

“UVU is providing the charging stations to the public free of cost to demonstrate our commitment to this project and improving air quality along the Wasatch Front,” said Val Peterson, vice president for administration.

The move comes as the university adds two new Toyota Prius plug-in hybrid electric vehicles to its fleet.
