Vestel, one of Europe’s largest OEM electric vehicle charging solutions manufacturers, is launching a range of own-brand charging solutions, said to provide a new benchmark for affordability, reliability and sustainability.

Vestel plans to become Europe’s leading supplier of affordable EV charging solutions

The Turkish manufacturing giant, best known for being the OEM partner behind one in every three TVs and display screens sold in Europe, has been designing, engineering and producing EV charging solutions for household name brands for over five years. Its ‘Powered by Vestel’ devices span small residential chargers to the largest commercial units and are already installed in homes, car parks and service stations across the UK.

Its new own-brand solutions will draw on its manufacturing economies of scale; the firm says its capacity to produce over 700,000 EV chargers per year will underpin its plans to become Europe’s leading supplier of affordable EV charging solutions.

Matthew Lang, managing director of Vestel UK, said: “The need for EV charging at home, at shops and offices, and as part of the national infrastructure is increasing each day, and manufacturers are struggling to keep up with demand even now. As one of Europe’s largest electronics manufacturers with over half a decade of experience in making EVC products for premium brands, Vestel has the expertise, capacity and scale to become a leading brand for affordable EV charging across Europe.”

The new EV charging products and the majority of their components will be made in Europe, at factories across Vestel City in Turkey – which the business said reduces time to market, keeps the environmental footprint to a minimum and reduces transcontinental shipping costs and impact.

The focus initially will be on residential charging solutions, with integrated features including WiFi, app control, LCD displays, PEN fault detection, and both tethered and socketed options, including a cable locking feature.

The charging range will be further expanded throughout 2023 to encompass dual-socket commercial AC chargers, rapid and ultra-rapid DC chargers.

Vestel will also continue to manufacture OEM charging solutions for premium electric vehicle brands, service station networks and electricity suppliers.
