Tesla has introduced a new pricing structure for its Supercharger network in the UK.

The move follows the arrival of a membership model for all Supercharger network customers after the EV giant opened up its network to drivers of other EV brands.

With immediate effect, the monthly membership fee will reduce from £10.99 per month to £8.99 a month. Tesla owners are automatically members.

Tesla has also introduced a new annual membership option priced at £90 a year; a 16% discount compared to a monthly membership.

Both monthly and annual subscriptions give access to cheaper Supercharging rates.

The brand said: “Tesla owners will continue to enjoy a seamless and fully integrated Supercharging experience at lower member rates than non-membership prices, while all EV owners will have more affordable options to choose from.”

Customers with an active membership will benefit from an automatically reduced monthly fee or can switch to the new yearly membership plan. The Tesla app must be updated to version 4.32 and above.

Non-Tesla drivers can still use Superchargers without membership at stations accessible to all EV drivers, while “Supercharging rates will continue to be updated regularly to provide affordable, fast-charging for all EV drivers”.

Tesla first opened up its UK Supercharger network in 2022, with drivers of other EV brands able to access its previous-generation 250kW V3 Superchargers and 150kW V2 Superchargers solely via the app.

Last year saw Tesla launch its new-generation V4 Supercharger in the UK, further opening up its charging network to all brands. The chargers are able to supply up to 250kW and are able to be used by anyone with a CCS charging port thanks to their contactless payment terminals.

In the UK and Ireland, Tesla operates more than 1,400 Superchargers at 140 sites. In total, 42 of these sites are open to all EVs with CCS charging, with 477 chargers available (see interactive map here).

The Tesla Supercharger network is the largest fast-charging infrastructure globally, and the most extensive public fast-charging system in Europe. As of today, more than 14,000 Superchargers distributed in over 1,100 locations are available in 30 European countries. Over 70% of the network in Europe is currently open to non-Tesla vehicles, and more Superchargers will be added in the near future.

Tesla’s Supercharger network also has a near-perfect figure for reliability with 99% uptime.
