Kia has expanded the line-up for its all-electric PV5 Cargo electric van with MY27 updates and the introduction of the Cargo L1/H1 version.

The L1/H1 becomes the new entry point to the PV5 Cargo line-up, with prices starting from £27,355 (excl. VAT).

Measuring 200mm shorter than the L2, it’s purpose‑built for dense urban operations, where compact dimensions and agile handling are a key priority. Its shorter body houses 4.0m3 (VDA) cargo volume – 0.4m3 less than the L2/H1 – “striking a balance between capacity and manoeuvrability for city‑based logistics and service fleets”.

It’s available in the same streamlined Essential and Plus grades offered across the PV5 Cargo line‑up.

The two powertrains – Standard Range 51.5kWh and Long Range 71.2kWh batteries – mirror its longer sibling. Driving range reaches up to 243 miles (WLTP Combined) for the larger battery, while the Standard Range offers up to 177 miles. Thanks to the L1/H1’s smaller size, payload is slightly increased over the L2/H1, rising by 10kg up to a maximum of 800kg for the Essential, Standard Range, three-door.

From launch, the L1/H1 is exclusively available with two seats, with a three-seat option to follow in early 2027.

Alongside the new L1/H1 version, the PV5 Cargo range gains a series of MY27 updates.

Drivers get a major comfort upgrade with standard lumbar support and a height‑adjustable armrest (two‑seat configuration only). Cabin refinement also improves thanks to a new composite bulkhead, while three‑seats becomes standard – initially exclusive to the Cargo L2/H1 – with two-seats offered as a no-cost option.

A new slimline, short-roof antenna lowers the vehicle’s overall height to 1,899mm, improving access to height‑restricted car parks. Kia has also introduced a new Walk Away Lock.

Pricing for the PV5 Cargo in the UK now starts from £27,355 (excl. VAT), for the Cargo L1/H1 Essential with Standard Range 51.5kWh battery. In addition, all grades of the PV5 Cargo qualify for the Government’s Zero-Emission Van Grant (ZEVG), taking £5,000 off the on-the-road cost.

Aside from the no-cost 2-seat or 3-seat option – initially only available on the Cargo L2/H1 – customers can further specify Essential and Plus grades with Premium Paint for £625 (excl. VAT). A choice of three- or four-door variants are also available across both Cargo models, offering an additional sliding door for additional cargo area access, at a cost of £355 (excl. VAT). A Heat Pump option is now exclusive to the Plus Long Range model, priced £650 (excl. VAT).

MY27 updates across the Cargo line-up and the new Cargo L1/H1 are available to order from 8 June at PBV Centres across the UK. First customer deliveries are expected from October. Every PV5 comes with Kia’s seven-year/100,000-mile warranty (eight years for the high-voltage battery pack).

Later this year, Kia will expand the PV5 family beyond Cargo and Passenger. Cargo, Passenger and Crew made their UK debut at the 2025 CV Show, while Chassis took its UK bow at this year’s show.

The recently revealed PV5 Cargo L2/H2 high roof model will be available later this year.
