The new Peugeot E-208 GTi is now open for orders, available from £34,995 OTR, with the arrival of the first-ever fully electric GTi marking a new era for the iconic badge.

The most powerful model in the B-segment, the E-208 GTi is engineered and designed in France by Peugeot Sport and Peugeot Design, reinterpreting the GTi DNA with modern technology and styling for pure driving pleasure.

The E-208 GTi is powered by a 281hp electric motor paired with motorsport-derived control software, accelerating from 0-62mph in 5.5 seconds and producing 345Nm of torque.

With a range of up to 233 miles (WLTP combined) and eight years/100,000 miles of warranty on the EV battery, the new E-208 GTi aims to uphold the badge’s reputation for outstanding performance, dynamic handling and everyday usability, which was established more than 40 years ago with the legendary 205 GTi.

The E-208 GTi also qualifies for the UK government’s £1,500 electric car grant (ECG).

Compared with he standard E-208, the GTi has a lowered ride height and wider tracks plus exclusive 18-inch alloys with a ‘pepper pot’ design inspired y the 205 GTi, and which as also claimed to improve brake cooling.

A bespoke front spoiler and gloss black rear aerodynamic diffuser, incorporating a new LED rear fog light, add to the stand-out appeal.

Inside, a striking red and black colour scheme pays homage to the iconic 205 GTi, with red carpets, floor mats and seatbelts immediately setting a sporting tone, complemented by red contrast stitching across the dashboard, door panels and compact steering wheel.

Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are included, while drivers can also control key vehicle functions using intuitive “OK Peugeot” voice recognition. The MyPEUGEOT smartphone app allows remote pre-conditioning of the cabin, charging schedule management and journey planning directly from a mobile device. In addition, Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) capability enables the E-208 GTi to power compatible external electrical devices for added convenience.

The E-208 GTi offers a combined WLTP range of up to 233 miles with Hankook Ventus S1 Evo3 tyres (no cost option) or 219 miles with Michelin Pilot Sport 4S performance tyres (as standard).

Charging times range from under 30 minutes for 20%-80% on a 100 kW DC charger, up to 4 hours 40 minutes on a 7.4 kW wall box.
