King’s College London has introduced a brand-new, zero-emission electric van fleet, complete with eco-friendly graphics delivered by P1 Wraps.

The custom-branded fleet features five Ford E-Transit Customs and a larger Ford E-Transit, all supplied on lease by Wessex Fleet to support King’s Estates & Facilities operation across its London campuses.

The vehicles feature a 100% non-PVC 3M Envision graphics system, selected specifically to match the environmental objectives of the university’s transition to all-electric transport.

King’s College London wanted the vehicle graphics specification to reflect the same sustainability thinking behind operating an electric fleet. P1 Wraps recommended 3M Envision Print Wrap Film LX480mC together with 3M Envision Gloss Wrap Overlaminate 8548G – a complete non-PVC print-film and overlaminate system.

The original livery was designed by Day 1 Communications and the artwork was supplied to P1 Wraps by King’s College London. P1 Wraps then adapted the supplied creative for production across the five Transit Customs and translated the same visual identity onto the larger Ford Transit.

The livery was selected to match the eco objectives of the university’s electric switch

Production files were prepared by P1 Wraps and the large-format graphics were printed in-house on the company’s HP Latex equipment at P1 Wraps’ headquarters in Bognor Regis.

All six vehicles were fully wrapped, with large, printed panels installed across the exterior bodywork to create the finished King’s College London liveries.

Following completion, the vehicles were professionally collected by Wessex Fleet and transported individually to King’s College London.

The initiative marked P1 Wraps’ first collaboration with Wessex Fleet and forms part of the company’s growing focus on commercial vehicle branding and fleet graphics.

Angus Waddell, founder of P1 Wraps, said: “King’s wanted the graphics to reflect the same environmental thinking behind running an electric fleet, so material choice was an important part of the project. I’ve worked with 3M Envision on a number of projects over the years, so it was a system we were confident recommending and producing in-house.

“It was also our first project with Wessex Fleet and they were fantastic to deal with from start to finish. We’re extremely pleased with how the completed fleet turned out, and hopefully this will be the first of many projects we work on together.”

P1 Wraps continues to expand its fleet-branding operation while building relationships across automotive retail, fleet, care, facilities, utilities and other commercial sectors.

The company specialises in commercial vehicle branding, fleet graphics and bespoke vehicle wraps. Design, artwork preparation, large-format printing, plotting, production and installation capabilities are all available in-house, allowing P1 Wraps to manage vehicle branding projects from artwork through to finished installation.
