BMW has added a new entry-level model to the line-up for its i4 all-electric Gran Coupé.

The new i4 eDrive35 shaves nearly £8k off the lead-in price while offering an electric range of up to 299 miles

Available to order now, the new eDrive35 joins the existing eDrive40 and sporty M50 variants and is priced from £49,995.

It shaves nearly £8k off the lead-in price while offering an electric range of up to 299 miles (WLTP).

Steve Roberts, general manager, corporate sales, said: “Following the huge success we have seen with BMW i4 in the Corporate and Fleet markets since launch, we are very pleased to bring the eDrive35 model to the UK portfolio.

“This latest model to join the i4 range will make electric driving accessible to even more of our customers.”

It’s available in both Sport and M Sport trims and comes with the Curved Display with iDrive and Operating System 8 also found in all i4 models, as well as the iX and iX1.

Other standard equipment includes LED headlights, 18-inch alloy wheels and signature blue design details. The interior features black cloth/Sensatec and front heated seats.

The M Sport adds in M aerodynamic exterior styling, Shadowline exterior, 18-inch M Aerodynamic alloy wheels, M Sport leather steering wheel and Alcantara/Sensatec interior upholstery.

BMW tripled UK registrations of fully electric vehicles in 2022, reaching a total of 21,481 units. One in five BMWs sold last year was a fully electric vehicle, making it the fastest-growing BEV brand in the UK, according to the group.

The carmaker is also expanding its line-up of fully electric vehicles this year with the i5, which joins the iX1, i4, iX3, iX and i7 later in 2023. The group is aiming for more than 50% of its sales volumes to come from fully electric vehicles no later than 2030.

Deliveries of the i4 eDrive35 are expected to start in summer 2023.
