Chery UK continues its rapid expansion in the UK new car market with confirmation of the imminent arrival of the Tiggo 4.

The Toyota Yaris Cross rival goes on sale in the coming weeks as a new budget-focused compact SUV, priced from £19,995.

Chery UK is part of Chery International, China’s largest vehicle exporter for 22 consecutive years. It only officially launched in the UK in August 2025, joining sibling brands Omoda and Jaecoo, ahead of the arrival of the Lepas marque later this year.

Since then, Chery UK has made swift progress with its UK rollout and the Tiggo 4 is the brand’s fourth model to land in the UK since last summer, following the larger Tiggo 7, Tiggo 8 and Tiggo 9 SUVs. It’s marked out as the first full-hybrid model in the Tiggo line-up and expected to appeal to drivers due to its budget, entry-level pricing, plus its “small dimensions and big appeal”.

Already on sale in other markets including Australia in both hybrid and pure petrol forms, and often branded as the Tiggo 4 Pro, the compact SUV teams up a compact exterior footprint and a “well-planned interior [that] provides the space and versatility required for all journey types”.

Its distinctive Chery styling includes the brand’s diamond front grille and signature LED lighting.

The Tiggo 4 CSH is powered by the fifth generation of the Chery Super Hybrid powertrain, underpinned by a 1.5-litre engine, 1.83kWh battery and automatic DHT transmission, offering a total output of 204hp and a torque figure of 310Nm. Efficiency figures for the UK are yet to be confirmed but the figure in Australia is 5.4l/100km (52.3mpg) with a range of 1,000km (621 miles).

The Chinese carmaker also promises comprehensive safety and driver-assistance technologies as standard, supported by a seven-year/100,000-mile warranty and eight-year/100,000-mile battery warranty.

In February, Chery registered 1,406 cars, according to the latest figures from the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT), giving a market share of 1.56%, while the brand continues to expand its dealer network nationwide.
