The revamped DS 4 is open for orders in the UK, complete with a new name and a choice of 48V hybrid, plug-in hybrid and 100% electric powertrains.

Priced from £32,200, the C-segment hatchback now bears the DS N°4 moniker, following in the footsteps of the DS N°8 electric flagship launched last year, and also gains its first-ever fully electric variant. It’s also available in four trims: Pallas, Pallas+, Étoile and Étoile Nappa.

The new “avant-garde” design introduces a bold new front-end featuring a wider, restyled black grille. It also introduces a distinctive V-shaped light signature, inspired by the DS E-Tense performance concept car and the N°8 and featuring the illuminated DS logo in the centre.

The fully electric E-Tense variant teams up a 58.3kWh (total) battery with a front-mounted 213hp electric motor that delivers 343Nm of torque. Capable of up to 279 miles (WLTP combined cycle), it’s available in Pallas, Pallas+ and Étoile trims and priced from £36,930.

The new-generation plug-in hybrid drivetrain combines a 180hp turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine and a 110hp electric motor for a combined output of 225hp and 360Nm of torque. It can travel up to 50 miles (combined WLTP range) in 100% electric mode before switching to hybrid operation, giving it a 9% Benefit-in-Kind banding.

The N°4 48V hybrid version combines a 1.2-litre turbocharged three-cylinder petrol engine with a 28hp electric motor, integrated into the six-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. It’s capable of driving on electric-only power for up to 50% of the time during urban use, depending on traffic conditions and driving style.

Prices on the 48V hybrid versions and plug-in hybrid models have been dropped compared to the pre-facelift versions and now offer savings of £2,430 across all hybrid trims, and £2,390 across all plug-in hybrid variants.

Entry-level Pallas versions come with dual-zone automatic climate control, LED headlamps and full LED rear lights, heated and folding door mirrors, acoustic laminated front side windows, Bluetooth connectivity and over-the-air updates. A safety pack delivers adaptive cruise control with stop and go and adaptive speed limiter and automatic emergency braking controlled by camera and radar, plus front and rear parking assistance with reversing camera.

Design features on Pallas models deliver diamond tungsten fabric and DS black canvas seats, plus a basalt black trim with a tortoiseshell effect on the dashboard and door panels, as well as bronze inserts.

Pallas is available exclusively with the new all-electric E-Tense powertrains, with prices starting from £36,995 OTR.

The Pallas+ adds in DS Iris system – 3D connected navigation with natural voice recognition, wireless smartphone charging and keyless entry and start, as well as a heat pump on E-Tense variants.

Étoile adds in the DS extended head up display, DS Matrix LED vision headlamps and full led rear lights with scrolling indicators, a rear traffic detection pack, powered front seats, laminated and tinted rear glass, aluminium door sill protectors and pedals and the DS Drive Assist pack.

Étoile Nappa builds on this with a Criollo Brown Nappa leather interior, available on both hybrid and plug-in hybrid powertrains. It also includes additional equipment including heated steering wheel and powered, heated front seats.

The DS N°4 is available to order now, with first cars due to arrive in showrooms in Q4 2025.
