Europcar expands electric vehicle fleet further

Europcar Mobility Group UK is continuing to expand its electric vehicle fleet further with latest model additions.

New arrivals include several hundred Tesla Model 3 EVs for long-term business rental

New arrivals include several hundred Tesla Model 3 EVs for long-term business rental and a batch of Mercedes-Benz EQB 350 SUV models, initially available from Heathrow Airport.

These join existing EVs, underpinning Europcar’s ‘One Sustainable Fleet’ programme, which aims to have at least 20% of its vehicles emitting less than 50g/km by the end of 2024. The company is also rapidly upgrading the Europcar branch network with charging posts to further support this goal.

The EVs give businesses and their drivers the chance to experience electric in real-world conditions before committing to lease or outright purchase.

Ron Santiago, managing director, said that the diversity of the latest additions to the Europcar fleet gives businesses a wide choice for a variety of use cases.

“Before making fleet decisions which will have big financial implications it makes sense to ‘test’ every aspect of electric mobility. But a short test-drive, even if it’s for a week or more, doesn’t really deliver the insight businesses need to understand the true impact of using an EV.

“The Europcar long-term rental solution tackles this challenge and our plan to add models across different price points gives fleet managers more choice to find the right fit for their business.”

The Europcar long-term rental solution has also been adapted for EV motoring. It’s available for a minimum of three months with no upfront deposit and commitment-free and includes a comprehensive vehicle handover and charging instructions support. Drivers also get charging cables, a Shell Recharge card and app, providing access to over 10,000 publicly accessible charge points across the UK and access to Tesla Superchargers for Tesla rentals.

Fleets also have the option of CO2 reporting for valuable insight into emissions reduction while Europcar offers a range of home, roadside and workplace charging solutions through its partnership with Shell Recharge Solutions.
