The Range Rover has entered a new era with the official introduction of the first-ever fully electric version of the flagship SUV.

Priced from £154,070 OTR and on sale now, the Range Rover Electric blends the brand’s legendary all-terrain capability with near-silent, zero-emission refinement.
Years in the making, the much-lauded luxury SUV is also quieter, more responsive and with more torque than any Range Rover to date.
Under the bonnet is a powerful dual-motor system featuring twin 353hp motors that combine to deliver V8 levels of performance, offering up to 550hp, 850Nm of torque and a 0‑60mph sprint in as little as 4.3 seconds.
The motors are powered by a double-stacked 118.5kWh battery yielding up to 372 miles of WLTP range and a real‑world range of up to 333 miles, according to the brand.
Thanks to an industry-leading 800V architecture and split‑charging, it also supports 350kW DC fast charging, taking the battery from 10 to 80% in around 22 minutes, adding 137 miles of range in a swift 10-minute stop.

True to its heritage, the new Range Rover blends cutting-edge electric performance with the legendary, go-anywhere capability that defines the brand.
JLR says the new model follows the principle of being a Range Rover first and Electric second. Single‑pedal driving enables the Range Rover Electric to climb slopes up to 45 degrees, while a lower centre of gravity and twin‑chamber air suspension enhance driving dynamics.
At the heart of its off-road prowess is a revolutionary new traction management system that responds in just 50 milliseconds – 100 times faster than a traditional combustion-engine equivalent. Operating flawlessly across any terrain, this lightning-quick system ensures the EV retains the brand’s famed all‑terrain drive capability – including wading through up to 900mm of water.
New technologies also include Intelligent Driveline Dynamics (IDD), which distributes rear torque from 100% to 0% to prevent loss of traction.
Matt Becker, vehicle engineering director, JLR, said: “The defining characteristic of Range Rover Electric is its ability to perform across every surface, with effortless comfort and refinement. We’ve worked tirelessly to ensure it retains those qualities. From challenging low‑grip and rough terrain to smooth, high‑speed roads, it remains incredibly composed and refined, with a real sense of control and confidence. The responsiveness and precision of the new driveline control systems, enabled by electric propulsion, perfectly support this.”

Visually, it’s very similar to the existing mild‑hybrid, plug‑in hybrid and ICE models, gaining an aerodynamically optimised grille, new wheels and a tailored underbody to maximise motorway range.
Underneath, it’s on track to be the most patented Range Rover ever, with 300 patent applications filed, including ThermAssist heat management technology and Range Rover’s own design of battery and motors made at JLR’s Electric Propulsion Manufacturing Centre in the UK.
The new Range Rover app provides a variety of connected solutions. Drivers can initiate cabin purification or the heated steering wheel, check their vehicle is locked, its live location and look at the current charge status and predicted driving range.
The app also provides the ability to select and schedule charging when the vehicle is parked and plugged in – for example at home – to help make the most of lower charging tariffs.
In the UK and Europe, clients have access to over one million public chargers, while in North America clients get access to the Tesla Supercharger network, with built‑in NACS compatibility. At home, an elegant new optional Range Rover home charger ensures every journey begins with a full charge.

The Range Rover Electric has undergone extensive virtual and physical global testing and development to ensure a customary Range Rover experience. Tested in ‑40°C temperatures in Arjeplog, Sweden, the heat of the Dubai desert and JLR’s own Eastnor Castle facility in the UK, Range Rover Electric has completed over 1.5 million kilometres and over a quarter of a million hours of testing in the virtual and physical worlds.
Martin Limpert, managing director of Range Rover, said: “We took our testing and development programmes even further than originally intended to ensure Range Rover Electric is genuinely the most accomplished Range Rover ever.”
To ensure seamless serviceability and maintenance, each Range Rover Electric comes with a Battery Digital Twin which provides over 900 diagnostic data points and, when coupled with JLR’s software over the air capability, allows Range Rover to proactively maintain clients’ vehicles. Range Rover Electric’s advanced propulsion comes with an eight‑year or 100,000‑mile warranty.
Drivers can also make use of the Range Rover Bespoke commissioning service, which offers an extended choice of “near‑limitless” paint colours and finishes, elevated materials, tailored colour combinations and personalisation details including unique embroidery.
The Range Rover Electric is built at JLR’s Solihull manufacturing plant in the UK. The launch is underpinned by a large-scale transformation of the site and wider West Midlands footprint, including new battery and electric drive unit production lines and large-scale reskilling of the workforce for electrification.
Order books are now open in a choice of standard or long‑wheelbase body designs in SE, HSE and Autobiography specifications, as well as SV, SV Ultra and SV Black. A First Edition is also available, finished in Belgravia Green, Santorini Black or Varesine Blue with newly introduced Light Cloud Ultrafabrics PU and Kvadrat interior.
