Ford has unveiled its next-generation E-Tourneo Custom MPV

One of four new all-electric Ford Pro models being launched in Europe by 2024, it’s targeted at both private and business customers, offering spacious accommodation for up to eight occupants along with performance and refinement.

The line-up includes the E-Tourneo Custom, which combines a 74kWh battery with the same high-density battery cell technology as the Ford F-150 Lightning pickup plus a 218hp electric motor. The all-electric powertrain also offers one-pedal drive capability to enhance both energy efficiency and driving experience and an optimised chassis architecture with independent rear suspension.

The onboard 11kW AC three-phase charger can recharge the battery in less than eight hours, while a 15-80% recharge takes around 41 minutes using a 125 kW DC fast charger.

The E-Tourneo Custom also delivers maximum towing capacity of 2,000kg while Pro Power Onboard technology means electrified variants can up to 2.3kW of charge through sockets in the front cabin – providing power for digital devices, tools or sports and camping equipment when off-grid.

The new Tourneo Custom line-up – the most comprehensive range ever – also includes a new plug-in hybrid (PHEV) version and the latest generation of Ford EcoBlue diesel engines, available with a new high-efficiency eight-speed automatic gearbox, and – for the first time – an intelligent all-wheel drive system.

The Tourneo Custom PHEV teams up a 2.5-litre Atkinson cycle petrol engine with an electric motor and 11.8kWh battery pack enabling a targeted pure-electric driving range of over 31 miles. EcoBlue diesel engines will be offered in 136hp, 150hp or 170hp power outputs.

The optimised vehicle platform has been designed for generous cabin space regardless of powertrain. Standard and long wheelbase models each offer three rows of seating, with up to eight seats in E-Tourneo Custom and a maximum of nine seats in Tourneo Custom PHEV and EcoBlue diesel-powered models.

All new Tourneo Custom vehicles are fully integrated with the Ford Pro platform of software and connected services including end-to-end charging solutions, management tools from Ford Pro Telematics, the FordPass Pro app, and the FORDLiive connected uptime system.

Equipment includes ultra-flexible track-mounted rear seating, hands-free power side doors, B&O audio system, digital key cards, panoramic glass roof – and a tilting steering wheel.

The new Tourneo Custom also offers tri-zone electronic air temperature control, a 14-speaker B&O sound system featuring a subwoofer located in the rear compartment, sophisticated ambient lighting, wireless charging pad for mobile devices, and heated outboard seats in the second row.

Model variants include Active and Sport designations, and the range-topping Titanium X – with standard features ranging from stylish 19-inch alloy wheels and full matrix LED lighting to Sensico synthetic leather seat material. Each series can be specified with any of the available powertrains.

Latest driver assistance systems include a number of features available on the model for the first time, such as Intelligent Adaptive Cruise Control with Lane Centring, Reverse Brake Assist, Fully Active Park Assist and a 360-degree camera system that provides a comprehensive view around the vehicle for easier manoeuvres in the city.

The new Tourneo Custom range will be produced by Ford Otosan in Kocaeli, Turkey, with deliveries to European customers starting from mid-2023 for diesel models and additional variants available from later in the year.
