ChargePoint Services and East Hampshire District Council (EHDC) have added a number of new rapid chargers in the county as part of the GeniePoint pay-as-you-go network.

The move sees the addition of new chargers in Petersfield town centre, next to the main Waitrose supermarket, and also in Alton Hampshire, in Manor car park just minutes from the town centre.

The new chargers bring the total for the GeniePoint network in Hampshire to 19, with new chargers being installed in Chichester and Havant, and more scheduled before the end of 2018.

Alex Bamberg, managing director, ChargePoint Services, said: “It is clear from the extremely steep increase in usage that the public are waiting for rapid charging facilities to become available and are embracing the facility immediately it is installed. We are focused in our drive to provide the latest in EV charging technology to drivers providing them with the essential service of fuelling their electric vehicles as a day-to-day requirement.”
