Jeep has announced details for its new-generation Compass, which opens for orders in First Edition guise from Q3 2025.

Reinvented for the third generation with a bold new look and first-ever fully electric version, it’s available initially in the limited-edition model with two powertrain variants: the 145hp e-Hybrid mild hybrid and the 213hp fully electric model.

Priced from £35,700, the Compass First Edition e-Hybrid is equipped with a 1.2-litre, three-cylinder engine that is assisted by a 29hp electric motor for a maximum power output of 145hp. This powertrain offers electric driving at low speeds in urban areas without the need for charging.

The chunky new Compass is also available with a fully electric powertrain, priced from £39,200 for the First Edition and with a range of up to 310 miles (WLTP undergoing homologation). It features a 74kWh battery coupled with an electric motor that delivers 213hp and 345Nm of torque. Peak charging is 160kW DC, offering a 30-minute 20-80% recharge time.

In addition to e-Hybrid and fully electric variants, the Jeep Compass range will also be available with a plug-in hybrid powertrain with a 51-mile electric-only range (WLTP undergoing homologation) and an additional two electric variants.

These include a two-wheel-drive 230hp variant with up to 402 miles of range (WLTP, again pending homologation) and a four-wheel-drive variant that offers “all the off-road capabilities expected of a Jeep” together with an electric powertrain capable of delivering up to 372 miles on a single charge (WLTP and awaiting homologation).

Based on the Stellantis STLA Medium platform also used for the latest Vauxhall Grandland, Citroën C5 Aircross and Peugeot 3008, it’s designed to uphold the Jeep reputation for off-roading capability. The new Compass has a ground clearance of up to 200mm, approach angle of 20 degrees, breakover angle of 15 degrees and departure angle of 26 degrees. Water fording depth is up to 470mm (408mm on e-Hybrid) and Selec-terrain is standard across all versions, allowing drivers to switch between modes tailored for specific driving conditions.

There’s a boost for both cabin and luggage space compared to the previous Compass, with an extra 55mm of legroom, a 34-litre front interior storage compartment and a boot capacity of 550 litres. The 40/20/40 rear seat split is standard across all versions.

As standard, Compass First Edition will be available in Hawaii (brilliant green) with Pacific (blue), Antarctica (white), Amazonia (green with brown hues), Yosemite (grey) and Vulcano (black) also available as an option. All colour choices include a body-coloured roof; a black roof is an option.

The e-Hybrid features 18-inch alloys painted in a gloss grey, while the fully electric variant gets 20-inchers painted black with a machine-faced finish.

Equipment on the First Edition spans heated seats and steering wheel, dual-zone air conditioning, personalised ambient lighting, power-folding heated mirrors, passive entry/keyless go, as well as a 10-inch instrument cluster and a 16-inch infotainment screen and Level 2 Autonomous driving. The fully electric variant also includes pre-conditioning and a heat pump as standard.

Option packs include the Convenience Pack First Edition, ADAS Pack and Premium Pack First Edition, and drivers can also opt for a dual-pane sunroof and, on fully electric variants, an on-board 22kW charger.
