Kia has updated its Niro hybrid and plug-in hybrid crossovers for 2019 with new connectivity and driver assistance features plus refreshed design.

Kia Niro plug-in hybrid

The changes see the two models gain the new design language debuted on the e-Niro electric crossover as well as redesigned alloy wheels and the use of more premium materials for the interior.

The revised models also now feature Kia’s new Uvo telematics system – which is also being rolled out to other European models in the future. This can be accessed via a new 10.25-inch touchscreen multimedia system to provide Kia Live info including live traffic information, weather forecasts, points of interest, fuel prices, and details of potential on- and off-street parking.

Kia is also offering an Android and Apple-compatible UVO App that, depending on market, provides a range of remote features, including enabling drivers to route directions to their car before a journey, check the location of their vehicle, and access vehicle reports and diagnostic notifications.

Both models also get new driver assistance features including Lane Following Assist, Intelligent Speed Limit Warning, an electronic parking brake and LED headlights.

The updated Kia Niro hybrid and plug-in hybrid are on sale now with prices starting at £24,590 for the Niro ‘2’ 1.6 GDi Hybrid.
