Funded by a 75% grant from OLEV’s ULEV Readiness Programme, the new addition to the Council fleet is supported by a new charging point at the Undercroft car

Funded by a 75% grant from OLEV’s ULEV Readiness Programme, the new addition to the Council fleet is supported by a new charging point at the Undercroft car park on Welton Road, and a second at the Lodge Road car park.

It joins a Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV pool car and Renault Kangoo Maxi Z.E. already on the fleet, claimed to save around 1.8 tonnes of carbon emissions per year as well as saving £2,500 on running costs compared to a diesel car.

The Council says it is also looking to bolster the local charging infrastructure, and is inviting businesses to indicate if they are considering adding plug-in vehicles to their fleets to gauge demand for the forthcoming network.
