Schneider Electric unleashes ultra-rapid 720kW EV charger in UK

Schneider Electric is bringing one of the UK’s most powerful EV charging systems to market, as pressure grows on operators to scale infrastructure for commercial fleets and heavy-duty transport.

The StarCharge Fast 720 delivers up to 720kW of power and can charge up to 12 vehicles simultaneously

The StarCharge Fast 720 delivers up to 720kW of power and can charge up to 12 vehicles simultaneously, supporting everything from passenger vehicles to e-trucks and buses, thanks to dynamic load management.

Designed for commercial and industrial sites, the system reflects a broader shift in the market – from consumer charging to high-capacity, fleet-focused infrastructure.

It launches at a time when demand for EVs is rising and grid constraints are becoming a growing concern – the solution’s decentralised architecture enables operators to scale charging without complex grid upgrades, while maintaining efficiency levels of up to 97%.

Operators can position up to six dispensers within an 80m radius of the Boost Pro+ Power Cabinet, enabling scalable configurations for any site. This design minimises grid connections, simplifies installation, and reduces noise for a better user experience.

Schneider StarCharge Fast 720 also includes comprehensive lifecycle support, from installation to tailored maintenance plans, backed by 24/7 assistance and remote monitoring via Schneider Electric’s EcoStruxure Energy Asset Portal. These features ensure maximum uptime and cost efficiency for operators.

The StarCharge will be on view at booth K20 at the All-Energy exhibition in Glasgow 13-14 May.
