Škoda has expanded the line-up for its fully electric Enyaq SUV with a new long-range version that qualifies for the Government’s Electric Car Grant of £1,500.

The new Enyaq SE L 85 sits below the Edition 85 and, thanks to its £41,980 OTR price, qualifies for the grant under the Government’s rules, bringing the price down to £40,480.

The new arrival brings down the entry price for customers who prefer the longer driving range offered by the largest 77kWh (net) battery. It delivers a WLTP combined driving range of up to 359 miles and supports DC rapid charging at speeds of up to 135kW, which means a 10-80% charge can be completed in 28 minutes.

It’s powered by a 286hp rear-mounted electric motor and capable of reaching 62mph in 6.7 seconds with a top speed of 111mph.

Standard equipment on the SE L grade includes 19-inch silver alloy wheels, 13-inch touchscreen infotainment system, ‘Loft’ interior Design Selection, heated front seats and steering wheel, tri-zone climate control  and an electric boot with virtual pedal.

Safety equipment includes predictive adaptive cruise control with traffic jam assist, travel assist plus and keyless entry with walkaway locking.

Uplifting this further, a new Plus option package throws in full LED Matrix beam headlights, electrically adjustable driver’s seat with memory and massage function, plus manual blinds for the rear windows. Priced at £2,500, it also brings LED rear lights with animated indicators, along with rear side airbags.

The introduction of the new Enyaq SE L 85 variant increases the number of Škoda models eligible for the recently introduced Government Electric Car Grant to 10 different variants.
