Until now, the dual-motor system has only been available on the larger of the two batteries – the 85kWh unit – but the 70D version offers the extra grip with a lower entry price of £54,500 including the £5,000 Plug-in Car Grant.

Standard equipment includes the new Autopilot Hardware, which underpins semi-autonomous safety and convenience functions, Navigation and access to Tesla’s Supercharger charging network – previously an option on the smaller battery.
