Intended to position the firm to offer a full OEM end-to-end charging solution, the expansion will see the firm launch a full service EV charging programme and products, including an array of Level-2 charging stations designed for North America, Europe and Chinese markets and exhibited at CES 2018, in Las Vegas, as well as a wireless EV charging solution.

The units are designed for home, business and multi-unit dwelling applications and can be customised to meet OEM vehicle-specific requirements, backed by a nationwide installation and service network.

Webasto is also driving the expansion into EV charging with the appointment of John Thomas as head of electric vehicle charging solutions North America, with a remit to provide one of the most comprehensive electric vehicle charging approaches.
