New Genesis Electrified G80 elevates game with more luxury, space and range

Genesis has debuted its updated Electrified G80 executive saloon, delivering more luxury, space and range.

On sale from 3 June, the Korean brand’s facelifted flagship all-electric model is now available exclusively with an extended wheelbase along with a larger 94.5kWh battery and dual 185hp electric motors at the front and rear.

The larger battery, up from 87.2kWh, is now capable of a combined WLTP range of 354 miles on a single charge, while the 800V electrical architecture enables ultra-fast charging, with a 10-80% top-up in 25 minutes.

All Electrified G80s are equipped with an electronically controlled suspension damping system working in harmony with Road Preview technology, which pre-emptively detects speedbumps and damaged road surfaces and adjusts the suspension damping control to provide a significantly smoother ride.

The extended wheelbase delivers an additional 130mm for significantly greater space while also increasing the luxury for rear seat passengers. The interior also features a new front and rear seat design, with extended leather throughout and a newly designed three-spoke steering wheel. Individual seat heating and cooling technology is available for the driver and front seat passenger, with separate seat heating functions in the rear. Options include a second row comfort pack, which introduces electric closing doors and electrically operated rear blinds.

Exterior updates take the form of a new bumper design while the existing Two Line headlights now incorporate Micro-Lens Array (MLA) technology and an Intelligent Front Lighting System. The front charging port has been redesigned for added convenience, and there’s a new 19-inch alloy wheel design.

New technologies incorporate a panoramic 27-inch connected car integrated cockpit system merging the driver information and entertainment display screens. Digital Key 2 offers a full biometrical experience and the updated Electrified G80 also gains an anti-bacterial UV-C steriliser system.

Luxury features include a standard-fit 17-speaker Bang & Olufsen Audio with Dolby Atmos capability.

The updated Electrified G80 will be available to order from Tuesday 3 June. Prices are tipped to start at around £77k.
