Volkswagen’s ID.4 and ID.5 electric SUVs are set to gain extra style and value for money with the arrival of new Black Edition versions this week.

Sitting above the existing ID.4 Match Pro and Match Pro 4Motion, and the ID.5 Match, the new models come with thousands of pounds of extra spec for as little as £1,780 more.

Added exterior features include 19-inch black alloy wheels, a panoramic glass sunroof and black exterior mirror housings, alongside a high-gloss black roof trim and rear pillar, plus black rear nameplates.

The interiors of the new Black Editions fuse together extra style and comfort in the form of Volkswagen’s Top-Sport ‘Plus’ Interior Pack, which includes sport seats in the front with integrated head restraints, power-adjustable lumbar support and massage function, all wrapped in ArtVelours microfleece upholstery.

Specified separately as options, these additional features would add up to £4,625, but prices for the ID.4 Black Edition, ID.4 Black Edition with 4Motion and ID.5 Black Edition are £46,180, £47,900 and £47,680 respectively – that’s as little as £1,780 more than the existing ID.4 and ID.5 Match variants.

All three are fitted with a 77kWh battery that delivers 286hp of power and with WLTP ranges of 336, 322 and 341 miles respectively.
