The Renault Scenic E-Tech electric has secured the top-level £3,750 Electric Car Grant (ECG) from the Government.
The full band 1 ECG saving is available immediately on all new orders, bringing starting prices for the family SUV down to £33,245.
The full grant eligibility follows Renault Group’s demonstration of its commitment to using 100% renewable energy in partnership with supplier LG at its plant in Poland. These batteries are then installed in the car as it is manufactured in Renault’s factory in Douai, France
The Scenic is the third Renault vehicle to be eligible for the maximum ECG saving, joining Renault 4 and Renault 5, which are manufactured in France. With the Megane and smaller battery versions of the Renault 5 available with the lower-band 2 £1,500 saving, Renault lays claim to the most extensive electric vehicle line-up eligible for the grant in the UK.
Adam Wood, managing director at Renault UK, said: “Renault Group was the first car manufacturer to have its decarbonisation targets validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) back in March 2019, and today’s confirmation of the maximum grant for Renault Scenic, as a result of its battery maker using 100% renewable energy at its plant, is another demonstration of how we have prioritised putting sustainability at the heart of our manufacturing processes.”
Renault’s entire electric car line-up has been eligible for ECG savings since last year, driving 87% year-on-year growth in its EV registrations in the first quarter of 2026.
Adam Wood added: “Now, one in three new Renault cars sold is electric, proving that there is a strong appetite for great electric cars that are brilliantly designed, fun to drive, packed with tech and affordably priced.”
