EV8 Technologies has joined the Association of Fleet Professionals (AFP) as the business increases its focus on supporting UK fleets through the operational and commercial challenges of electrification.

Originally founded by global management consulting firm Kearney as a joint venture with Cenex, EV8 provides fleet electrification intelligence and optimisation tools designed to help organisations make informed, data-led decisions around their EV transition.

Felix Mackenzie, chief commercial officer at EV8, said: “The AFP plays an important role in bringing together practical fleet expertise from across the industry. For us, membership is about contributing to those conversations, understanding the operational realities fleet managers are facing and supporting the wider transition in a way that is commercially grounded.”

Central to the company’s fleet proposition is EV8 Switch, a planning platform that uses real-world telematics and operational data to help businesses understand which vehicles should transition first, the likely total cost of ownership, charging infrastructure requirements and the operational impact of electrification.

The platform is aimed particularly at mid-sized fleets, where internal electrification modelling capability is often limited, but the financial and operational risks attached to poor planning can be significant.

The move comes at a time when many fleet operators are facing growing pressure around decarbonisation, vehicle replacement cycles, infrastructure investment and rising energy costs, while still needing to maintain operational continuity and control capital expenditure.

EV8 positions itself as an intelligence layer between fleet operations and energy infrastructure, rather than as a charging provider or consultancy-led modelling business – an important distinction as fleets seek more impartial support around electrification strategy.

Mackenzie continued: “Fleet electrification has moved well beyond simply replacing ICE vehicles with EVs. Fleet operators are now dealing with infrastructure planning, energy costs, operational resilience and long-term investment decisions, often all at once.
