Lepas has uncovered details for its all-electric L6 SUV as the Chinese newcomer accelerates its UK expansion.

Open for orders from October, the new arrival joins the Chery International offshoot’s L8 PHEV flagship and targets models such as the Volkswagen ID.4 and Škoda Elroq.
The powertrain features a 65kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery and a front-mounted electric motor producing 217hp and 275Nm of torque, with acceleration from 0-62mph in 7.9 seconds and a top speed of 111mph.
WLTP range is up to 279 miles while 120kW DC charging provides a 30-80% charge in around 22 minutes. A standard 3.3kW Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) function also allows owners use the L6 EV’s battery to power compatible external electrical equipment.
The L6 EV is built on Lepas’ LEX Platform, which has allowed designers to create a flat floor in the rear, creating more space and giving rear passengers more room to stretch out.
The boot provides 410 litres of luggage space, increasing to 1,334 litres with the rear seats folded. A further 99 litres of hidden underfloor storage provides space for charging equipment, shopping and other items.
The powertrain features an integrated 12-in-1 electric drive system designed for efficiency and smooth power delivery, with electric power steering and an electric brake booster included as standard.
Bosch IBP 2.0 braking technology has been developed to improve braking performance, energy recovery and pedal feel, whilst also reducing the pitching sensation sometimes associated with electric vehicles.
As with the L8, Lepas’ European chassis team carried out dedicated development work to refine the L6 EV for European roads, engineered to combine smooth electric performance with the ride comfort and predictable handling expected by European drivers.
The brand name Lepas is a portmanteau of the words Leopard and Passion, and the identity is built around a design philosophy dubbed ‘Leopard Aesthetics’.
The L6 EV brings this philosophy to the C-SUV market and features signature ‘Hunting Eye’ LED headlights, along with a wide-body profile that Lepas tells us is inspired by a leopard in motion and distinctive LED rear lighting.
Prices are yet to be revealed but the line-up spans two grades. Entry-level Essence models focus on technology, safety and comfort features, while Elevate adds luxury, convenience and intelligent parking technology.
Both models feature 19-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels. Standard equipment also includes LED headlights with intelligent high beam assist, LED daytime running lights and LED rear lights. Electrically adjustable, heated and power-folding door mirrors with puddle lights are also standard.
The interior features a wrap-around cockpit, along with a 13.2-inch waterfall-style central touchscreen display and 8.88-inch Retina LCD digital driver display.
Connected features are powered by a Qualcomm 8155 infotainment processor while the Hello Lepas AI-powered voice assistant allows drivers to control key vehicle functions using voice commands, limiting distractions whilst driving.
Both models feature 50W wireless smartphone charging with active cooling, two front USB-C ports and USB-A and USB-C connections for rear passengers.
Essence features a six-speaker audio system, whilst Elevate upgrades this to a Sony premium eight-speaker system.
Both models come with a panoramic sunroof with electric sunshade, dual-zone climate control, rear air vents and a heated multifunction steering wheel, whilst a heated front windscreen, keyless entry and go and 40/60 split-folding rear seats are also standard.
The entry-level Essence trim features Basalt Black fabric upholstery and six-way manually adjustable front seats.
Elevate adds Basalt Black full leather-effect upholstery and six-way power adjustment for both front seats, with the driver also benefiting from four-way power lumbar adjustment. Heated and ventilated front seats are standard on Elevate, along with a power tailgate, Nano-Aqua Ion Air Purification System and 256-colour ambient lighting.
Both models feature 22 advanced driver assistance functions. These include autonomous emergency braking, forward collision warning, adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, emergency lane keeping, blind spot detection and traffic jam assist.
Also standard are rear traffic cross alert and rear traffic cross braking. Other features include rear collision warning, door open warning, intelligent speed limit control and front distance monitoring.
Front and rear parking sensors and a 540-degree panoramic camera system are standard on both models, with Elevate adding advanced parking assist and remote parking assist.
Every Lepas L6 EV comes with a 7-year/100,000-mile manufacturer warranty and an 8-year/100,000-mile high-voltage battery warranty. A 12-year/unlimited-mileage corrosion perforation guarantee and 3-year/unlimited-mileage paintwork guarantee are also included.
RAC Roadside Assistance is provided for the first 12 months and is automatically renewed for up to seven years when scheduled servicing is completed at an authorised Lepas service centre, whilst over-the-air and firmware-over-the-Air updates allow software and vehicle functions to be updated throughout the car’s life.
