A new ‘yellow paper’ advising on what actions fleets can take to decarbonise is out now from AA Business Services.

The Bridge to EV: Creating Business Confidence practical guide outlines measurable actions businesses can take, even if the majority of their vehicles are still ICE.

Regardless of where they are in their journey to decarbonisation, the report looks at how businesses can lower the carbon impact of ICE vehicles, as well as busting common EV myths and misconceptions that fleets may encounter on the road to electric operations.

The paper brings together clear, actionable guidance to help companies make the right choices for their business, sharing the AA’s expertise across all vehicle types and fleet needs, alongside customer and industry partner insights.

James Starling, director at AA Business Services, said: “The EV transition in the UK is rarely out of the news. Decarbonising transport has its evangelists and its sceptics – and the debate can sometimes be extremely polarising. The AA believes that businesses need to cut through the noise and find a viable way forward that is designed around their needs.

“We are convinced that there is a unique path to decarbonisation for every fleet. It doesn’t matter if a company started their effort years ago, or if they are just at the beginning. There are measures that every business can take right now that are tailored to their own unique situation to ease the transition, which we’ve aimed to capture in our latest yellow paper.”

This year, the AA celebrates 120 years of supporting drivers and their vehicles and a long history of advising on fleet efficiency for decades and developing support for businesses, such as EV driver training. The report draws extensively on the first-hand experience gained from decarbonising its own fleet – a recovery fleet exceeding 3,000 vehicles, and a car fleet of similar scale.
