Clean transport infrastructure provider Aegis Energy has launched a three-year commercial partnership with Allstar parent firm Corpay to deliver competitively priced electric vehicle charging for UK fleets.

The partnership will allow Allstar fleet customers to access Aegis Energy’s developing network of clean energy hubs with competitive charging rates and simple, consolidated payment through Allstar Chargepass and its EV charging cards.

Road transport is a major hurdle for UK net-zero targets. Heavy goods vehicles (HGVs) generate 19% of surface transport emissions, while vans contribute another 18%.

Commercial fleets face several barriers when switching to zero-emission vehicles, including a lack of reliable, dedicated charging infrastructure and disjointed booking and payment processes for charging that add time, cost and operational complexity.

The new collaboration will address both issues by combining Aegis Energy’s purpose-built commercial charging infrastructure with Allstar’s streamlined payment processes for fleet operators.

Allstar’s customers will be able to charge at Aegis Energy’s sites either by booking ahead or on a plug-and-go basis. The three-year agreement ensures long-term price certainty for operators, supporting better planning and operational efficiency.

The partnership will also advance Allstar’s development of its newly launched Commercial Charging Payment Network, an integrated charging ecosystem for commercial vehicles, combining access to public and semi-private infrastructure designed for larger vehicles.

As Aegis Energy’s network expands across the UK – with 30 hubs planned to open by 2030 – Corpay’s customers will gain access to a wider range of sites to charge at, meeting the growing demand for clean energy refuelling solutions for the country’s transitioning fleets.

The partnership was endorsed by industry body Logistics UK, which highlighted that dedicated charging infrastructure is crucial for the ongoing transition within the UK freight industry.

Lamech Solomon, head of decarbonisation at Logistics UK, emphasised that every step of the vehicle recharging process must be completely seamless to ensure rapid, commercially viable decarbonisation.
