BP Pulse has partnered with IAG Loyalty, the organisation behind the global rewards currency Avios, to give customers the opportunity to collect rewards when charging their electric vehicles.
Drivers in the UK can collect Avios points when charging their electric vehicles with BP Pulse
The partnership makes BP Pulse the very first EV charging network in the UK to offer Avios and means drivers in the UK will now be able to collect points when charging their electric vehicles with BP Pulse.
The newly launched scheme is available at BP Pulse’s 3,000 rapid and ultra-fast charging points in the UK for members of The British Airways Club.
Just like collecting Avios on everyday spending, customers can now turn everyday charging with BP Pulse into getaways or rewarding experiences.
Thanks to the new partnership, members of the British Airways Club will be able to collect four Avios per £1 when using the BP Pulse app or subscription and two Avios per £1 spent when paying by contactless on every qualifying charging session across BP Pulse’s public charging network in the UK.
To qualify for the scheme, British Airways Club members must register their payment cards at avios.com or the Avios app before charging. Once registered, customers will automatically collect two Avios per £1 on eligible transactions, when paying via contactless, with no additional steps required.
Customers using the BP Pulse app to start and end their charge, or those with a subscription, can enjoy a boosted collection rate of four Avios per £1 on eligible spend. To benefit from this, customers must ensure they’ve downloaded the bp pulse app, are signed in, and have also registered a payment card in the app wallet.
Valerio Ferro, general manager at BP Pulse UK, commented: “As EV adoption continues to grow, this partnership adds further value to the charging experience – giving customers a simple way to collect Avios as part of their everyday journeys. bp pulse has become the first EV charging network to offer Avios and we’re delighted to be able to reward drivers as they transition to EVs.”
Rob McDonald, chief commercial officer at IAG Loyalty, added: “Our ambition is to make collecting Avios part of everyday life, and bp pulse is a logical partner as more members transition to electric vehicles. By linking EV charging with Avios, we’re giving members another way to turn everyday activity into meaningful rewards – bringing their next trip even closer.”
Customers yet to join the British Airways Club can sign up for free today. For details of how to link accounts and start collecting Avios with BP Pulse, click here.
