ChargeGuru’s fully funded EV charging solution is now available for office buildings amid growing demand for workplace charging.

Launched in 2024 for apartment blocks, the scalable solution has been expanded to businesses and their employees who need access to reliable, onsite EV chargers.

It’s offered on a zero-cost basis to the building owner, commercial agent, freeholder or property manager with no upfront investment or ongoing management required by the property for installing or maintaining the EV charging infrastructure.

Denis Watling, managing director at ChargeGuru UK, said: “We know that the average car in the UK is stationary for around 95% of its lifetime. The vast majority of this time is spent parked up at home or at work. Following the success of our Fully Funded Solution for apartment blocks, it’s a natural next step to expand the offering to UK office buildings, too.

“By removing the financial and administrative barriers for property owners and managers in both the apartment and office block environment, we’re empowering tenants to charge their EVs when it suits them, rather than having to always rely on the public charging network. That’s good news for current and future EV drivers.”

ChargeGuru invests in and fully manages the EV charging technology, monitoring usage through the installation of an independent electricity meter and ensuring bills for the chargers are kept separate. ChargeGuru also pays for all electricity used by the Fully Funded Solution and then rebills this to the businesses that have subscribed to the solution and use the chargers.

Maintenance of these chargers is also managed by ChargeGuru. The individual EV chargers are installed in each designated parking space as and when needed, meaning businesses can expand and improve their infrastructure over time.
