Farizon has secured its first UK large fleet deal, supplying 20 all-electric SV large vans to commercial catering specialist McFarlane Telfer (MCFT).

The zero-emission vehicles will be deployed across the country to support MCFT’s mobile team of commercial catering engineers.

During a competitive assessment process, MCFT trialled the Farizon SV against three fully electric competitors. Several MCFT engineers at four locations tested the vans for a full month, with particular attention being paid to load space, versatility, range and ease-of-use.

The Farizon SV fought off the established brand rivals and was judged to best suit the needs of the team.

MCFT has opted for the SV L1H1 83kWh model to meet its requirements. This model offers 6.95m3 of load space, a maximum payload of 1,265kg and a low loading height of 550mm. Combined with the 83kWh battery option, the L1H1 delivers a range of up to 234 miles (WLTP Combined), while a 20-80% charge can be carried out in 36 minutes.

George Smith, fleet manager at MCFT, said: “Our engineers can drive up to 25,000 miles a year, so a highly competitive range was an essential ingredient in ensuring our operations wouldn’t be affected by switching to an electric fleet. Factor in the cost savings we’ll be able to make, the SV’s impressive payload and high spec levels, and it’s clear this is the right solution for us.”
