Chinese EV brand Xpeng has officially confirmed that its X9 multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) will hit UK roads in Q3 2026.
Showcased at Auto China 2026, the electric, seven-seat MPV blends futuristic, starship-inspired design with ultra smart technology and a first-class passenger experience, bringing a new rival to the Lexus LM, Volkswagen ID. Buzz LWB and the incoming BYD Denza D9.
The line-up spans three different variants: Standard Range, Long Range and All-Wheel Drive (AWD). Prices start from £74,990 OTR for the Standard Range, £79,990 for the Long Range and £84,990 for the AWD version.
The X9 Standard Range and Long Range adopt a single-motor, front-wheel-drive configuration that delivers 320hp with 450Nm of torque, accelerating from 0 to 62mph in 8.2 and 7.75 seconds respectively.
The X9 AWD produces 503hp and intelligent all-wheel drive from its dual-motor setup. It engages its additional rear-wheel motor as necessary in acceleration, cornering and low traction conditions, delivering 640Nm of torque and a 0-62mph acceleration of 5.9 seconds.
The X9 Standard and Long Range achieve a WLTP range of 332 and 382 miles respectively, with a 360-mile WLTP from the AWD variant.
All three variants share an electronically limited top speed of 124mph and come with Xpeng’s fast charging technology, able to charge from 10% to 80% in 12 minutes at peak power of 542kW.
Xpeng is positioning the X9 as an “AI-defined” mobility solution, shifting the MPV segment away from traditional utility and toward a luxury lounge experience. Inside, passengers are treated to a lounge-concept interior featuring an AI-driven smart cockpit, zero-gravity seating options and an ultra-intelligent infotainment environment designed for both corporate use and family road trips.
“The Xpeng X9 debuts in the UK as a highly sophisticated, ultra smart multi-purpose vehicle,” said Jonny Miller, Xpeng UK Sales Director. “It defines a UK standard for style and technology in all-electric MPVs, and will attract those seeking the optimum in space, versatility, safety but above all, intelligent luxury.”
The X9 will be available in the UK in Arctic White as standard with optional Silver Frost, Midnight Black and Graphite Grey offered across the range. The interior is finished in Meteorite Black leather with optional Moon Shadow Coffee.
Deliveries to UK customers start in Q3 2026.
The X9 is the latest Xpeng model bound for British shores. Founded in 2014, the Chinese EV maker entered the UK in early 2025 via a distribution partnership with International Motors Ltd – the established importer behind Isuzu, Subaru and Mitsubishi. Xpeng debuted with the G6, an electric SUV-coupé aimed squarely at the Tesla Model Y and already refreshed just months after its launch.
More models are in the pipeline as Xpeng accelerates its UK expansion. The brand promises a broader line-up of next-generation smart EVs across multiple segments, engineered to blend cutting-edge technology and performance with captivating design and real-world affordability.
