‘Going green’ event reveals latest eco solutions for fleet sector

Latest insights and solutions to help the fleet sector go green were showcased at an industry open day last week.

The open day was held at vGI Holdings’ new home in Milton Keynes

Hosted by automotive accessory and logistics group vGI Holdings, parent firm of vGroup International, the event saw guest speakers from TfL, the Energy Saving Trust, BMW and Mercedes as well as other industry experts impart expert knowledge on cutting emissions. Attendees included lease companies and dealer groups.

Latest electric cars and vans were also on display, including from BMW, Ford, Maxus, Mercedes and Mini.

The open day on 22 September was held by vGI Holdings at its new home in Milton Keynes. Chairman Martyn Nash, founder of the company in 1992, opened the event with a prerequisite ribbon cutting for the newly refurbished, 40,000-square foot facility. The site will be used by the company to manufacture vehicle accessories, despatch over a thousand orders per day and offer logistics services with Just-In-Time and sequenced deliveries with its own vehicle fleet.

The ‘going green’ event was particularly relevant in the run-up to the UK’s 2030 ICE ban and 2050 net zero target. The vGI Holdings group will be net carbon zero by 2024 and is well on the way with sustainable products such as screenwash pods and 100% recyclable car mats.

The success of open day one has already triggered ideas for the next event.
