InstaVolt has expanded its partnership with Zapmap, allowing electric vehicle drivers to pay for charging directly across its entire UK-wide network.

Zapmap users, now numbering over one million, can pay for charging at more than 2,500 rapid and ultra-rapid InstaVolt chargers across almost 900 locations using the Zapmap app or charging card.

InstaVolt’s chargers are located primarily in food and beverage and retail spaces such as McDonald’s, Costa Coffee and Booths, and along the strategic road network, including motorway service areas. The charring firm recently calculated that EV drivers in the UK are never more than 30 miles from one of its chargers.

Named as an ‘EV driver recommended’ network in Zapmap’s latest driver satisfaction rankings, the network is at the forefront of grid-independent resilience through its deployment of battery storage technology, notably at its flagship Winchester superhub, which provides charging for 44 vehicles, and at Welcome Break Corley (M6), the UK’s first motorway services to host on-site battery storage directly connected to its chargers.

InstaVolt’s charging network joins over 80,000 other chargers across more than 50 networks already accepting payment through Zapmap, spanning on-street, destination and en-route charge points, with more being integrated all the time.
