Kia UK has officially opened bookings for a nationwide ‘First Drive Weekend’ tour, giving the public their first chance to test-drive the all-electric EV2.
The nationwide events offer exclusive early access to Kia’s newest electric car
Guests can book a personal expert walkaround and a half-hour accompanied test drive at locations across the country, enabling them to experience the EV2 electric crossover.
Running from 16 April to 27 June 2026, the events take place across most of the 190-strong Kia UK dealer network, offering exclusive early access to Kia’s newest electric car.
Debuted at the Brussels Motor Show in January, the EV2 is the Korean carmaker’s most compact EV to date and has been designed, engineered and manufactured in Europe, exclusively for European drivers.
Prices and specifications are yet to be revealed, but the EV2 is expected to cost less than £25,000, delivering a new, affordable EV choice to help more drivers go electric.
Based on the same e-GMP platform as the other electric Kia models, the EV2 teams up a compact 4m footprint with a versatile design that means it’s still able to pack in generous space with up to 362 litres of boot space.
Two battery options (42.2kWh and 61.0kWh) deliver anticipated best-in-class range. Built on Kia’s 400V E-GMP architecture, the EV2 supports DC rapid charging on both battery options, allowing the EV2 to charge from 10 to 80% in 30 minutes.
Kia also promises upper‑segment technology, such as triple‑screen infotainment, over-the-air updates, Digital Key, Plug & Charge, V2L and V2G capability, and a full suite of advanced driver assistance systems. Remote smart parking assist entry marks a segment-first, allowing the vehicle to be manoeuvred from outside using the smart key.
First customer deliveries are expected later this year, but drivers can secure a space now to test-drive the EV2 in the coming weeks via the official booking website here.
Kia’s EV2 ‘First Drive Weekend’ events build on the brand’s previous dealer-led electric experience events, which have helped introduce the EV3, EV6, EV9 and Niro EV across the nation in their inaugural sales years. Last year’s EV4 and EV5 ‘Electric Experience’ events racked up more than 15,000 reservations to attend.
