MG has lifted the lid on the new MGS9, detailing the feature-packed specification for its new seven-seat PHEV flagship.
On sale now from £34,205, the MGS9 PHEV marks the brand’s first foray into the seven-seat SUV sector. It delivers a spacious and versatile interior with three rows of seats, plus up to 1,026 litres of boot space with the rear row folded away.
It’s pitched by MG as offering more space and versatility than the MG HS PHEV, and the bonus of seven seats.
The plug-in hybrid powertrain combines a 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine with a 24.7kWh battery, offering an electric range of up to 62 miles, putting it in the 10% Benefit-in-Kind bracket for 2026/7. It’s also built for long-distance practicality, offering a generous 65-litre petrol tank and a robust 2,000kg braked towing capacity.
The two grades – Comfort and Premium – are both focused on high-spec luxury.
Standard equipment includes 20-inch alloys, ambient lighting, heated seats, a panoramic roof, and dual 12.3-inch displays, plus wireless connectivity for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The screens are complemented by physical buttons for quick access to key controls, such as air conditioning, and there’s a leather-style multifunction steering wheel.
Convenience features include an electric tailgate, 360-degree reversing camera and vehicle-to-load (V2L) capability. The MGS9 PHEV also gets up to 16 advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) constantly monitoring the road ahead to help protect the vehicle and its occupants. MG’s new seven-seater is another model to benefit from the MG Pilot Custom function that allows drivers to conveniently customise and save their favourite driver assistance systems.
Comfort models feature cloth upholstery with eight-way electric driver seat and six-way electric passenger seat; both heated.
Premium models are priced at £36,945 and gain leather-style upholstery with ventilated and massaging front seats plus four-way lumbar support for the driver, front fog lights, a 12-speaker Bose audio system, a smart tailgate, wireless mobile phone charging and an auto-dimming rear-view mirror.

The MGS9 PHEV is available to order now, with the first cars due in showrooms from late March.
