Priced from £30,495 for the petrol hybrid version and £34,065 for the EV, the latest edition of the family SUV centres around comfort, on-board space and value for money – and significantly undercuts some key EV rivals.

Built on the same STLA Medium platform used by other Stellantis models such as the Peugeot 3008 and Vauxhall Grandland, it’s larger than before and bears a new look that takes in styling from the C5 Aircross Concept unveiled in autumn 2024 at the Paris Motor Show. Highlights include a bold new three-point LED light signature and a redesigned grille.

The launch line-up includes the Hybrid 145hp automatic powertrain, which combines a new-generation 136hp three-cylinder 1.2-litre turbo engine, with a 12hp electric motor directly integrated into the new six-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox and powered by a 0.9kWh battery located under the passenger’s seat. It comes with a range of more than 559 miles (WLTP combined cycle) and can be driven up to 50% of the time in electric-only mode in urban settings.

Drivers can also opt for the pure electric 210hp Standard Range version, featuring a 73kWh battery for a WLTP range of up to 322 miles.

Later in the year, Citroën will expand the line-up with a 230hp Long Range electric version, featuring a 97kWh battery for up to 421 miles of range, and a new-generation plug-in hybrid with an all-electric range of up to 53 miles.

All versions feature the brand’s progressive hydraulic cushions in the suspension to deliver a “remarkably smooth, almost gliding” ride.

The interior is equipped with Citroën Advanced Comfort seats, which combine plush, high-density foam with wider cushions and integrated heating, ventilation and massage functions on selected versions.

Technology upgrades deliver a new 13-inch ‘waterfall’ HD touchscreen, mounted in a vertical floating display and with fully customisable and fixed sections for quick and easy access to essential functions at all times. The cascade screen offers a large customisable area that displays 3D navigation, infotainment controls, and allows widgets to be programmed for direct access and positioned as desired over several pages. The new C5 Aircross also gets a 10-inch fully digital driver display.

Three trims are available: You!, Plus and Max. The entry-level You! grade comes with 18-inch alloy wheels, LED headlights with high beam assist, the 13-inch touchscreen with 3D navigation, wireless smartphone charger, adaptive cruise control and an Urban Grey interior with Sofa fabric.

Plus adds in a Metropolitan Blue ambiance with premium fabrics, ambient lighting, dark-tinted windows, proximity keyless entry, front parking sensors and 180-degree reversing camera.

At the top of the chain, Max grade comes with a Hype Blue ambiance with plusher materials, extended head-up display, heated front seats and steering wheel, hands-free electric tailgate, and Drive Assist Pack 2.0 with semi-autonomous features. Fully electric ë-C5 Aircross Max versions also gain a standard heat pump for improved winter efficiency.

First customer deliveries are scheduled to begin from October 2025.
