Fastned has officially launched its latest ultra-rapid hub, located in the heart of Hemel Hempstead.

The site features eight ultra-rapid charging bays sheltered by Fastned’s signature yellow canopy. These high-power chargers are capable of delivering up to 400kW, which could add over 200 miles of range in just 10 minutes. The hub sits directly next to a new Burger King, with Tesco, Nando’s, McDonald’s and Lidl all within a short walk.

To celebrate the official opening, Fastned Hemel Hempstead will offer a week of free charging, from Friday 15 to Sunday 22 May 2026.

Drivers just need to turn up, authorise their charge with their normal payment method and then enjoy free charging on Fastned.

As more people make the switch to electric vehicles, it’s vital that charging infrastructure is convenient, accessible and easy to use. We’re looking forward to welcoming EV drivers to this site and continuing to expand access to ultra-rapid charging across the UK.”

This latest opening builds on Fastned’s recent UK expansion in the North East. The company recently opened two new stations at Newcastle Airport and in Sunderland.

Promotion runs from 00:01 on 15.05.2026 until 23:59 on 22.05.2026, or until the site energy cap of 20MWh has been reached, whichever is sooner.
